The former German striker Jürgen Klinsmann will be the new coach of the South Korean national team, advertisement this Monday a spokesman for the national football federation of the Asian country.
According to the Korean national news agency Yonhap, Klinsmann’s contract will run until the 2026 World Cup, to be played in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Klinsmann will succeed the Portuguese Paulo Bento in charge and will debut on March 24 against Colombia in a friendly matchreported the German news agency DPA.
It will be the third time that Klinsmann, 58 years old and world champion as a player in Italy 1990, will take charge of a national team.

From 2004 to 2006, the former player for Bayer Munich, Inter Milan and England’s Tottenham led Germany to third place at the 2006 World Cup at home.
Between 2011 and 2016 he held the position in the United States and at the club level, Klinsmann worked as coach of Hertha Berlin until February 2020. Most recently he was a member of the technical study group for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, an area of FIFA.
South Korea reached the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar, where they lost to Brazil. After that definition, the Portuguese coach Paulo Bento resigned from the Asian team.
