Judocas RD go today in Paris Grand Slam day

The Dominican delegation hopes to achieve positions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this year in France

The Dominican superior team will compete from today in thel Paris Grand Slam of judo that will take place at the Accor Arena in France.
The tournament, to which more than 24,000 spectators are expected during the two days of competition, will distribute points for qualifying for the Paris, France 2024 Olympic Games.

The judo delegation from Dominican Republic, made up of six athletes, made the trip to the qualifier with the support of the Creando Sueños Olímpicos (Creso) program.

Moira Morillo will face Maya Akiba, from Japan, in the first match of the category over 78 kilograms, while Estefanía Soriano will face Merve Azak, from Turkey, in women’s under 48 kilograms.
In more than 100 kilos, José Nova from Dominican Republic will face Frenchman Amadou Meite, while, in less than 90 kilos, Robert Florentino will jump onto the mat to fight Alexis Mathieu, from France.

Orb’s Medickson is up against Elijan Hajiyev, from Azerbaijan, at minus 81 kilos, and Antonio Tornal, at minus 73 kilos, will fight against Kestutis Vitkauskas, from Lithuania.

In addition to the athletes, the Dominican representation is made up of coach Wander Mateo and referee Orlando Cruz.
