There have been 18 people chosen from the different categories by the journalists, including LA NUEVA ESPAÑA: Ancelotti, Puyol, Eto’o, Totti, Xavi, Kaká, Rivaldo, Márquez, Cuathemoc Blanco, Quirarte, Lavolpe, Óscar Pérez , Seeler, Pretinha, Alves Zague, Isidoro Díaz, Emilio Azkárraga and Andrea Rodebaugh.
Martínez’s intervention was emotional, as he recalled the imminent birth of his granddaughter Juliana. Also with mentions of Pelé, recently deceased and whom the owner of Oviedo defined as his “friend and adviser”. Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, was also present at the vote for the International Football Hall of Fame.
