Double-double by Pöltl in Spurs defeat

Even a double-double by Jakob Pöltl did not prevent the San Antonio Spurs from losing for the seventh time in a row in the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Wednesday (local time).

The center from Vienna scored 109:119 against the Sacramento Kings with 18 points and twelve rebounds for the tenth time in the game year. He also had three assists and a steal and block in 28:57 minutes on the floor.

The Texans not only lost their third game of the season with Sacramento, but also lost two players in the first quarter, Jeremy Sochan and Tre Jones, to injuries. Nevertheless, they kept the game open until the final section.

Rookie Malaki Branham was San Antonio’s top scorer with a personal best of 22 points. Domantas Sabonis, picked eleventh in the 2016 NBA draft, two spots behind Pöltl, led the Kings with 34 points and 11 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox contributed 31 points and 10 assists for the Western Conference third and Pacific Division leader.
