It was a roller coaster ride of emotions!
In a turbulent cup game, Frankfurt won 4-2 at home against second division Darmstadt and trembled into the quarter-finals.
Frankfurt President Peter Fischer (66) is not in the stadium after the drug raid against him. During the game, the fans commented neither positively nor negatively.
It’s been a draw for a long time. But then Eintracht’s Daichi Kamada (26) achieved the redeeming lead!
► 62. Minute: Borré crosses to Kolo Muani. The vice world champion lays his head on Kamada, who hits the ball directly from 20 meters. Inside – 3:2.
Kamada blast, Frankfurt further!
Kolo Muani makes it 4:2 in the 90th minute.
Before that, it’s a back and forth…
Kolo Muani puts the home team ahead (6th/header). Then Darmstadt turns the game within 156 seconds! Lilien striker Honsak scores twice (29th, 31st). Borré equalized before half-time (44′)
And then comes Kamada and again “King Kolo” – what a cup spectacle!
Darmstadt coach Torsten Lieberknecht (49): “It’s an annoying defeat.”
The quarterfinals will take place on 4./5. held in April. Who Eintracht meets there will be decided by the draw on Sunday, February 19 (5:10 p.m.) on ZDF.
