Feyenoord won 2-4 on Sunday afternoon visiting Fortuna Sittard. René van der Gijp watched with astonishment last weekend the duel between the Limburgers and the Rotterdammers.
“That Fortuna Sittard really made a mess of it,” says Van der Gijp Inside today. “If you are played by the keeper in a way that you think: If I act normally, I already have a lot of trouble finding the free man right away, let alone if I hold him up two more times! Van der Gijp continues: “Then I really turned off the television. And then I hear everyone: “Wieffer in Orange.” Then I think: If Eus had played in Feyenoord’s midfield against Fortuna, he would also have been selected for the Turkish national team .”
Johan Derksen adds: “There were still newspaper boys who attributed the victory to Feyenoord’s fantastic game. But I have never seen a team defend as badly as Fortuna in the Eredivisie,” said Derksen.
