Defensa y Justicia and Huracán confirmed their favoritism against promotion teams to advance in the Argentine Cup

They defeated Ituzaingó and Yupanqui, respectively, but with different nuances. Patronato, the current champion, had been the first classified to the round of 16.

One with a little more suffering and the other more comfortable. Two teams from the Professional League such as Defensa y Justicia and Huracán managed to advance to the round of 16 of the Argentine Cup this Wednesday after defeating promotion rivals such as Ituzaingó (First B) and Yupanqui (First C), respectively.

In the first turn and on the Gimnasia de La Plata field, the ‘Halcón’, who had just been defeated by the ‘Globo’ on the first date of the First Division tournament, seemed to be heading for victory with the goals from Nicholas Fernandez (Pt. 9m.) y David Barbona (Pt. 11m.). Juan Fernando Garro (25m. PT), Nicolás Cordero (39m. PT, who also missed a penalty), the Uruguayan Matías Cóccaro, from a penalty (25m. ST) and Santiago Hezze (39m. ST) scored the goals for “Globo” for the victory at the Ciudad de Caseros stadium.

Antonio Paulides (41m. PT) made the historic discount for Yupanqui, who despite the defeat had his debut in the main draw of the competition.

Huracán, champion of the 2014 edition and directed by Diego Dabove, will face the winner of the cross between Instituto de Córdoba and Deportivo Riestra.
