Several members of the political institution denied having any approach or negotiations with the coordinator of the Liberty and Refoundation Party (Libre), Manuel “Mel” Zelaya, to install the controversial project in the country. The former Honduran president assured that he will send the popular consultation project to the opposition before the end of 2023.

Mel wants to “distract” the population

In this sense, the nationalists classified Zelaya’s statements as distracting for the population. The intention of making these types of statements is to make people forget about the increase in the basic food basket and the levels of insecurity in society, according to the political entity.
