“We continue working so that the fight in Venezuela grows by leaps and bounds. It is a tough international challenge, but we are sure that they are prepared,” declared the president of the Venezuelan Wrestling Federation, José Barreto.
This will be the first of several competitions that will be key in the effort to qualify for the Olympic joust:
- The Dawn Games in April
- The Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, in the middle of the year
- The Pan American Games, Santiago 2023, in October
The Venezuelan wrestling had an outstanding performance in 2022, winning team champions in the Bolivarian and South American Games.
