Combined bring substitute Rettenegger to Planica

The ÖSV combined athletes, weakened by illnesses of Franz-Josef Rehrl and Mario Seidl, made up for Thomas Rettenegger as a substitute on the rest day of the World Cup in Planica. While Seidl will not be used on the large hill either, individual bronze medalist Rehrl is uncertain, at least for the team competition on Wednesday. The Styrian has been suffering from flu symptoms since Sunday, and there was a slight improvement at the beginning of the week.

The decision on the line-up for the team competition on the large hill will be made after training on Tuesday. ÖSV head coach Christoph Eugen gave the majority of his team a rest day on Monday, while Johannes Lamparter and Stefan Rettenegger, who won bronze in the mixed event, as well as Martin Fritz spent it with regeneration measures on the ergometer and physiotherapy. Only Lukas Greiderer, who has not taken part in the Olympics so far, completed cross-country training, according to Eugen to the APA.
