Great news for the sport of the basket in the Balearic Islands. And it is that the Spanish Federation (FEB) has granted the Balearic Islands Basketball Federation (FBIB) the right to be the entity organizer of the first Spanish Championship of the 3×3 Under 17 club modality. An appointment to be held from June 9 to 11 in Cala Millor (Son Servera is the capital of minibasketball on the islands), with the 38 best women’s and men’s teams in the entire country.
On this Friday, the Executive Commission of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) approved the candidacy presented by the territorial authority chaired by Juanjo Talens to organize this first Spanish 3×3 Under 17 Club Championship, which will have as its setting the Parc de la Mar in Cala Millor, a great showcase for the Mallorcan coast. The 2023 edition will be the first edition of this competition, which will also premiere with the Balearic Islands as the venue for this new national, both in its women’s and men’s competition.
The organization of this Spanish Championship responds to the commitment of the FBIB for the growth of 3×3 basketball, for which it an FBIB that already has the qualifying competition for the national, which will start with a first phase on each of the islands at the end of March. All the autonomous communities are guaranteed the presence of two women’s teams and as many men’s teams and the FBIB will have priority in the event of resignations or vacancies.
