Boris Becker has maintained a luxurious lifestyle since his release from prison in December 2022.
He is said to have spent New Year’s Eve on the dream island of São Tomé, flown in a private jet and stayed in luxury hotels.
His insolvency administrator and his creditors are annoyed by his behavior.
Mark Ford is Boris Becker’s insolvency administrator. As the Briton told the German “Bild” newspaper, the tennis ace is said to have not contacted him for “a long time”. And that despite the fact that he still had debts in the millions. “It’s about significant amounts in the millions. It was always about millions. Only a small part of it has been repaid so far, »says Ford. However, he did not want to give the newspaper a specific number.
Both the insolvency administrator and his creditors show little understanding for the current lifestyle of the former tennis pro. According to “Focus”, he is said to have spent the turn of the year together with his girlfriend Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro (32) on the dream island of São Tomé off the west coast of Africa and stayed in luxury hotels.
Lawyer denies millions in debt
One of his creditors told the “Bild”: “If Boris Becker really wants a new start, he must first create the basis for it and meet the demands of his creditors.”
However, Becker’s lawyer Oliver Moser contradicts the statements of the insolvency administrator. Contact with the English insolvency administrator is “professionally managed by Boris Becker’s English insolvency lawyers”. The tennis legend also signed an agreement with Ford in 2018, in which the amounts to be paid by Becker were finally determined. The remaining claim amounts to almost 450,000 euros.
Boris Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in April 2022 for concealing assets worth millions from his insolvency administrators. Since the 55-year-old is not a British citizen, he was able to benefit from an accelerated procedure and was released in December 2022.
