Bonn wins crime thriller in Munich – Alba defends top

Eight games were on the program in the BBL on Sunday: Alba asserted itself at the top, while Bonn won the thriller in Munich.

What a finish at the end. Telekom Baskets Bonn prevailed in the top game at FC Bayern in the evening with 77:73 (39:36) and thus inflicted the runners-up their third competitive game defeat in a row.

The Bavarians were constantly trailing behind in their home Audi Dome and were ten points behind four minutes before the end (63:73), but then there was a splendid catch-up race that made victory seem within reach again. Bayern were back with a 9-0 run, but then Karsten Tadda kept a cool head, converted two free throws and made everything clear for Bonn.

The guests’ top scorer was TJ Shorts with 26 points, while Bayern’s Isaac Bonga scored 28 points and was the top scorer of the game – but that’s little consolation for the loss. In the table, FCB (13:5) is third behind Bonn (16:2) and Alba Berlin (16:1).

Alba defends championship lead

Alba Berlin has previously defended the lead in the table. On Sunday evening, the Berliners won the MLP Academics Heidelberg with 94:86 (40:34). The capitals remain leaders after their tenth league win in a row. The best Berlin throwers were Yanni Wetzell with 20 points and Yovel Zoosman with 14 points.
