Bologna defeats Inter Milan in rain battle

Bologna FC take revenge on Inter Milan in the 24th round of Serie A. After the 1:6 swatter in the first meeting of the current season, the “Rossoblu” win this time at home with 1:0.

Without the injured Marko Arnautovic, but with Stefan Posch in the starting XI, the home side are better able to cope with the soaking wet surface.

Bologna celebrates for the first time in the 12th minute, but wrongly so. Barrow’s (12′) shot went into the net, but Dominguez blocked Inter keeper Onana’s view from offside. At the last moment, the Argentine dodged, further irritating the Cameroonian. The referee calls it offside and no goal.

The seventh in the table stays on the trigger, Soriano (18th) flicks the ball onto the crossbar. Shortly before the break, Martinez (40th) found the best chance with a header, his attempt narrowly missed the left post.

In the second half, the “Nerrazurri” find their way better, Calhanoglu (48th) misses the great opportunity to lead.

Ten minutes later, Bologna goalkeeper Skorupski (58) reacted brilliantly against Lukaku and prevented the guests from making it 1-0. The Pole also has the upper hand against Dzeko (70th). Bologna rewarded itself for a good performance with the beginning of the final quarter of an hour.

Schouten intercepts a bad pass and immediately puts it through to Orsolini (76′). He takes the ball with him and doesn’t give Onana a chance – 1:0. Inter try to equalize but are unable to defeat Skorupski.

Bologna celebrate their fourth win from the last five games, seventh with 35 points. Inter Milan’s (2nd/47 points) chances of winning the Scudetto continue to dwindle, with SSC Napoli now 18 points ahead.
