The Patriots head coach praised the former quarterback for the way he viewed the field during an interview on his podcast.
Tom Brady and the head coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, they were together again, although it was not on a football field, but on the podcast “Let’s Go!” of the now former quarterback.
In an episode that featured stars such as Peyton Manning and Rob Gronkowski, the figure of Belichick stood out from the rest after praising Brady and put an end to any speculation about the relationship between the two.
“We had a really good relationship, especially in the video room and talking about football and all that,” he said. Belichick. “I will always treasure it and I learned a lot from that. Because no one sees the game better than they Tom Brady sees it or saw it, and I was very fortunate to learn from him and his vision.. No other coach will have that experience. It was incredible”.
Brady responded to praise from his former head coach, who coached him between the 2000 and 2019 seasons in New England.
“I think the coach Belichick and I developed a great relationship, from the moment I was drafted,” he said. Brady. “I had someone who really saw something in me that not a lot of other people saw. He loves the sport, he loves to teach, he loves to coach, he loves to compete and no one has done it better than him. I think he was a blessing to me, there’s no way to to be as successful as I’ve been personally without him and I’m very grateful for that.”

“Tom talks about how much I taught him in those meetings, but I learned a lot from Tom“, sentenced Belichick. “I never played quarterback and I never saw the game through the eyes of a quarterback, I saw it through the eyes of a coach and what Tom He told me that he saw and how he saw it, it was incredible how during the game he would come out and say, ‘What happened in that play? He would describe eight things that happened… Then we would watch the video and each of those things would happen in the exact sequence that he explained as he left the field. He was thinking, ‘This guy sees everything.’
“He sees the pressure, he sees the routes, he sees the coverage, the depth and he sees a lot of things before taking the play. The memory and capacity that he had Tom to remember the finer plays, situations and points like counts, out of bounds plays and things like that, from years before in the same situation was remarkable.”
Finally, Brady he buried the idea of a rivalry with the coach that let him leave in free agency before the 2020 season.
“I think it’s always a stupid conversation to say Brady vs. Belichick“, sentenced Brady. “Because to me, that’s not what the relationship is about. The coach couldn’t play quarterback and I couldn’t coach. The coach says a lot: ‘Do your job.’ He asked me to play quarterback, he didn’t ask me to coach.
“We spent a lot of time together. He started teaching me what football was all about, how to study defense when I first started playing. I couldn’t imagine a better teacher to say, ‘This is how you’re going to play quarterback in the NFL.'”
