Arthur Fils: “Not having an inferiority complex helps me a lot”

“Since the start of the week, you have been the only player to fill the room at a press conference. Do you feel your status change, vis-à-vis the media but also the public?
There is a lot of waiting around me, I can feel it. These are French tournaments so the French want me to win a lot of matches, to win the tournament. But that doesn’t put too much pressure on me. I’m not going to say that I like it 100%, but I don’t mind at all. You do your job. And it’s always good to have a big audience pushing behind it. Playing with the public is something that I have liked since I was little. It’s something, not lacking in our sport, but that I can bring in more. Many players play with the public, but I would like to add a little touch.
