In the Palasport Italo Bonini of Cinquefrondi on the weekend of 4 and 5 February 2023, the local sports club organized the Calabria Fitarco regional championship valid both for qualifications for the Italian indoor championships in Rimini next March and for the assignment of various regional titles and equivalent company points valid for multiple votes tables for federal elections. At the event held in a nice sports environment and warmed up the society of the neighborhood Lido of Catanzaro participated with its athletes in the event, as is now a regional sporting custom, the first place in the medal table of the event by number of gold medals won and medals goes to the club Archers Club Lido.
After a while, due to sporting choices, the technical team of the company decides to enroll also the men’s senior team in the main division of the event, i.e. that of the men’s Olympic, the surprises are not long in coming, in fact Poerio Pierà Francesco with a good 579 immediately rules the match taking home the title of regional champion of class and with teammates, Serafino Valentino and Poerio Pierà Edoardo who for the occasion competed as an Olympian they also win the Regional Senior Men’s Olympic title. In the Compound arc, Class Title for Anastasia Poerio Pierà in the junior class and Novello Gorizia Anna in the senior class, which is repeated, also taking home the absolute Female. Another gold for the Compound Juniores Female team with Poerio Pierà Anastasia, Chiarella Vittoria Veneta and the very young Canino Letizia.
Gold and first place also in the naked arch, where Poerio Pierà Edoardo and Catalano Domenico conquer the podium respectively in the senior class and in the junior class. Silver for Chiarella Vittoria Veneta in the individual compound and bronze in the same class and division for Canino Letizia. Silver also for Ganino Giuseppe in the Master compound. In the absolutes, due to commitments made and the impossibility of carrying them out in the Olympic seniors, neither the team nor Francesco Poerio Pierà were able to participate despite both being first in the qualifying ranking.
In the absolute women’s compound the only color on the podium is yellow-red. In fact, Gorizia Novello Anna conquers the gold, Anastasia Poerio Pierà takes the silver and Chiarella Vittoria Venenta wins the bronze. Another absolute silver for Poerio Pierà Edoardo in the Seniores bare arch. Satisfied all the technical staff of the Catanzaro company. “This year – adds coach Poerio Pierà Edoardo – we wanted to participate in the regional championship after a few years of absence, given the results brought home our attention from today on will be directed towards this type of competitions, which give us a lot of satisfaction but above all many company points and podium minutes ”.
