The Turkish Basketball Federation announced that the matches to be played this week were postponed due to the earthquake disaster.

The 7.7 magnitude disaster, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş, has claimed thousands of lives so far.

After this great disaster, the Turkish Basketball Federation announced that this week’s league matches were postponed.

The statement from TBF is as follows:

“As a result of the earthquake that affected many cities, especially Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Kilis, Gaziantep, Adana, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır, Malatya, Adıyaman and Şanlıurfa on February 6, 2023, a national mourning was declared for seven days by the Presidency’s decision.

After this earthquake disaster, which left our country with deep sadness, all competitions that will be played this week in our leagues have been postponed to a later date.

Turkish Basketball Federation will announce the new dates regarding the league calendar for the 2022-2023 season in the coming days.

May God have mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that stifled our country; We express our condolences to the families, relatives and nation of our citizens and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
