14 athletes will go to the HME, led by the shot putter Staňek, the injured Svoboda is missing

Thirty-one-year-old Staněk has a complete medal collection from the indoor continental championships, he returned with valuable metal from the last three events and won gold two years ago in Toruń. Mile runner Kristiina Mäki and long-distance runner Radek Juška, who narrowly missed the confirmation performance for the start at the HME, will go to Istanbul via a wild card. Both will be at the start for the third time, Juška is a silver medalist from the Prague HME from 2015.

Svoboda, a three-time medalist and European indoor champion from 2011, missed the start in Turkey due to a muscle injury he sustained in Saturday’s home championship final in Ostrava.
