Zabystřan attacked for victory from third place after the first round. In the second race, the two-time Olympic participant moved into the lead, beating the second Jeremie Lagier from France by just five hundredths of a second.

Twenty-two-year-old Otcovská won the race with a mass start of 12.5 km.
