“We will do the DNA test”

The same height, hair color (fiery red) and glasses. Identical, but unknown. They are two baseball pitchers from the Minor League with the same name and eerily similar appearance. They took a DNA test to find out if they are actually related after years of confusion. They are called Brady Feigl32, Long Island Ducks player, e Brady Feigl27, who plays for the Las Vegas Aviators.

In 2015, the “twins” were switched for each other for the first time when they both underwent the exact same elbow surgery performed by the same doctor, named Dr. James Andrews.
“I was probably out of surgery for six or seven months and their office called our coach and said, ‘Hey, when does Brady show up for surgery? Is he coming here tomorrow?’ the young Feigl told The Clarion Ledger at the time.

Feigl later discovered that he had an actual doppelganger. “I had the operation six months ago. What are you talking about?” Feigl explained. “That’s how I discovered that there were two of us, equal.”

Another identity crisis

A few years later, in 2017, the duo fell into another identity crisis, after the University of Missouri baseball team tagged the wrong Feigl on Twitter in a birthday tribute, where the Vegas player was hired at the time. “Wrong Brady Feigl,” replied the former San Diego Padres player. «He may be looking for my double»

No exchange at birth

Oddly enough, these two weren’t separated at birth: DNA testing showed no biological connection. However, despite their age difference, the Feigls still feel connected to each other.

“We’re still brothers in a way,” the older Feigl said, according to The Sun. The Feigls might not be the only two out there who are identical strangersi: An August 2022 study of 32 couples by Cell Reports found that people who look alike but are not related share genetic similarities. In the study, researchers asked lookalikes to take a DNA test and fill out a questionnaire about their lives, according to CNN. The scientists who performed the work also subjected the images of the doppelgängers to three different facial recognition programs.
