The Paco Aguilar de Vélez-Málaga Pavilion will host the Open 3×3 2023, a provincial 3×3 basketball tournament for categories from preminibasket to junior, male and female, to be held on February 27 and 28 with the aim of giving players from anywhere in the province the opportunity to live a unique experience with this sporting event; As explained in the presentation of the event by the Councilor for Sports J. Hipólito Gómez and Berni Rodríguez, former professional basketball player, manager of Academia 675 and in charge of coordinating the event, and Santiago Molina on behalf of the official sponsor Renault Tahermo.
J. Hipólito Gómez highlighted that “we remain firm with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle habits, the practice of sport and promoting events like this, the largest 3×3 tournament held in the Axarquía and which will be a great basketball festival in the province” . “The event will host approximately 80 teams with more than 300 players and will involve an influx of between 800 and 1,000 people, which will have an impact on the local economy and will also make our city known.” added the mayor.
Berni Rodríguez explained that during the tournament, the matches will have official referees from the Andalusian Basketball Federation. All matches will be held in the Paco Aguilar Pavilion of the Fernando Ruiz Hierro Sports Center, where six half-courts will be set up for this great event and all the matches will take place in the same space and simultaneously. The activity will also have a Fan Zone, typical of major professional competitions, to enjoy during game breaks, all to guarantee fun on and off the track.
