After officially launching the sports program within the institution, UC Puebla took its first step in the formation of its representative basketball teams, reason why it held its first test camp under the command of the experienced head coach, Rolando Huchin, who was satisfied with the response obtained from the student community.
“It is very exciting to take the first step in this way since we had a great response from parents and players and that is reflected with a full gym like the one we had. I am convinced that the experience we have, the response from the players and the support of our authorities will yield us successful representative teams, winners and, above all, in the training of good people who, through sports, will study to become professionals who contribute to society”.
He specified that after receiving nearly fifty applicants, from different municipalities in the interior, the capital of Puebla and surrounding entities, an important filter was carried out that allows them to have a sketch of what the team of the Warriorswhich as its name says, will defend with everything the cause of the academy that has forty years of experience.
In this regard, the rector of the house of studies, Jesus Oreareiterated his commitment to sports and the university community, with the certainty that in the short and medium term the results will begin to appear, which will place the name of the school within the elite of renowned institutions in the field of athletics.
“I feel very optimistic because we have goals and objectives to meet this year related to this very interesting sports project. One of our objectives is to fulfill the development of the comprehensive education of our students, which is achieved by taking sport as a complementary part of education,” he concluded.
