To replace Cristiano Ronaldo: These two strikers are Manchester United’s sights – SOCCER

It’s actually going on at Manchester United…

Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s (37) bang farewell, coach Erik ten Hag’s (52) team has had a strong run of success. Most recently, even champions Manchester City were beaten 2-1 in the derby. Then, on Wednesday evening, the late setback: in added time, Crystal Palace drew the 1-1 equaliser.

And the future is already being worked on…

United Holland striker Wout Weghorst (30) has been loaned out by Burnley FC as a short-term replacement for Ronaldo. However, only until the end of the season, when a real cracker should be committed for the attack.

As the English “Mail” reports, the United bosses have two stars in their sights who could replace Ronaldo from the summer.

At the top of the list is Victor Osimhen (24). The Nigerian is considered THE guarantee of success at SSC Napoli. With twelve league goals, the international shot his club to the top of the Serie A table.

According to media reports from Italy, Osimhen, who is under contract with the Italians until 2025, initially wants to win their first championship title since 1990 with Naples. Only then does the striker want to decide on his future.

However, one thing is clear: a commitment from Osimhen will not be cheap. Manchester United would have to put the equivalent of around 150 million euros on the table for the striker. In addition: Arsenal and Newcastle should also be on the attacker, according to the newspaper.

The second star on the list is Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos (21). The Portuguese has been considered a high-flyer since the World Cup in Qatar at the latest. There he scored a hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland after replacing Ronaldo up front.

However, the same applies here: Ramos would be anything but a bargain. His contract in Lisbon runs until 2026, his release clause is said to be around 120 million euros

And even with Ramos, other clubs are already queuing. Premier League rivals Newcastle and French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen on the striker, who has scored 17 goals in 26 games for Benfica in all competitions this season.
