This trophy reflects a remarkable season for Titouan Lucas, licensed from Bayeux Bessin Judo. Last year, in minimal, the judoka achieved the best he could do in his category, namely: Champion of Calvados 2022, Champion of Normandy 2022 and Champion of France 2022.

Son father Anthony, former member of the French cadet and junior team, specifies “that at that age, when you are put forward it is always a pleasure, they also gave him a poster of him doing a judo hold “. Titouan continues: “It’s always nice to receive an award. There were a lot of people, but I wasn’t too stressed, I knew what to expect”.

The schoolboy takes the lead

This year, the 15-year-old sportsman went to cadet category -50 kg. From now on, he fights against judokas his age or older by one or two years. “You progress by fighting stronger than yourself,” says his father. A successful adaptation since in the national ranking, it is one of the top five in class for the moment.

A pride for the Bayeux club whose he is still a member, and has been since the age of four. Titouan is aware of its strengths and weaknesses. “I am someone with a technical profile, the movements, I will perform them well. On the other hand, I find it difficult to hold a long fight, I get out of breath quickly. I have to work on my physical condition. Since the start of the year, I’ve been making progress, but that’s still my weak point”.

Shortcomings that he will try to fill in Caen hope center where he has been enrolled since the start of the 2022 school year.

Always in this hope of reaching the high level, the 3ᵉ student is in sport-studies and has arranged schedules. These weeks are punctuated by four training sessions at the Judo Hope Center in Caen and two physical preparation training sessions. Add to that two to three national competitions per month, on weekends. A life paced by judo then.

New goals

In February, the judoka will go to the European Cup Cadets in Naples and Malaga. These competitions will be a good way “to see my level internationally, find my weak points, see what’s wrong and what I need to correct,” says Titouan.
