OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 30 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder completed a series sweep against the Washington Wizards on Friday after a 127-110 victory.
Josh Giddey had 20 points, nine assists and five rebounds for Oklahoma City, which shot 51% from the field, including 45.9% (17-of-37) from 3-point range. The Thunder took control of the match with a dominant first quarter, in which they outscored their rival 35-17, and nine of their players made at least one 3-pointer.
Kyle Kuzma had 23 points, Daniel Gafford had 15 and nine rebounds and Kristaps Porzingis had 14 and 10 rebounds for the Wizards, who were without leading scorer Bradley Beal. Beal was diagnosed Thursday with a minor hamstring injury in his left leg and his condition will not be reevaluated for at least a week.
Washington cut back 14 points to take a 117-103 lead with 4:55 to go on Gafford’s layup, but rookie Jalen Williams made a pair of free throws and Gilgeous-Alexander dispelled the threat with a layup with 3:49 to go.
