SC Paderborn 07 has found a successor for sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth, who has moved to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. Benjamin Weber, Thomas Tuchel’s long-time assistant at various top clubs, is now taking over the post of sports director at the sixth-placed team.
“He has all the technical and human requirements to stabilize and develop our football at a high level,” said Paderborn’s club boss Thomas Sagel about Weber: “In addition to the success of our professional team, we also have the further optimization of our youth work in mind. “
The 39-year-old Weber worked as a video analyst and chief scout at Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 from 2006 to 2015. He then followed former FSV coach Tuchel to Borussia Dortmund, Paris St. Germain and Chelsea.
