Thieves caught in home hit owner with baseball bat and broom

It was around 2 pm last Sunday when the two boys entered a house in via dell’Autiere in Verona, where they allegedly first appropriated some objects and then they allegedly attacked the landlordwho in the meantime had returned home and caught them in the act.
The alarm was raised by the victim herself who, once she arrived at her home, would have immediately noticed the two intruders, reporting them to the operations center of the Verona police station and thus allowing their arrest by the police officers.

When they were discovered, the two young men would therefore have thrown themselves against the owner and they allegedly hit him repeatedly with a baseball bat and a broomstick, in an attempt to eke out the loot. It was an 18-year-old and a 25-year-old, both already known to the police, who were however blocked by the police officers and arrested for aggravated robbery in competition.

In addition to the goods just stolen from the victim (a t-shirt, a screwdriver and a battery charger), the police officers also found in the 25-year-old’s backpack a SIM-free mobile phone, an iPad, a laptop and a window breaker hammer, which the young man did not managed to justify possession and which cost him a complaint for receiving stolen goods and carrying weapons or objects likely to offend.
At the end of the investigations, the two boys were accompanied to the Montorio district house where the judge, after having validated the arrest, ordered the measure of precautionary custody in prison against both.
