The venues of Santiago 2023

We invite you to know the places where the sports and Para sports will be played in the Pan American and Parapan American Games that will be held in the months of October and November.

National Stadium Sports Park

It will be the heart of the Pan American and Para Pan American Games. In addition to the traditional coliseum that will receive athletics, there will be another 11 venues, between new and remodeled, which will be one of the great legacies of Santiago 2023.

They are: Mario Recordón Athletic Center, Julio Martínez National Stadium Coliseum, Collective Sports Center, Aquatic Center, Sports Center 1, Urban Sports Esplanade, South Sports Center, Paralympic Sports Center, Field Hockey Sports Center, Sports Center of Contact, Sports Center of the Rackets and Skating rink.

The sports that will be played in this venue will be Athletics track and field events, Wheelchair basketball, Basketball, 3×3 basketball, BMX freestyle cycling, Diving, Fencing, Blind football, PC football, Artistic gymnastics, Rhythmic gymnastics, Trampoline gymnastics, Goal ball, Field hockey, Judo, Karate kata, karate kumite, swimming, artistic swimming, para athletics, para powerlifting, para taekwondo, speed skating, racquetball, wheelchair rugby, skateboarding, squash, taekwondo, tennis and wheelchair tennis.

Cerrillos Bicentennial Park

The southwestern commune of Santiago will play a leading role in the 2023 Games, hosting the Villa de Athletes and some collective sports, consolidating the reinvention of the place that until 1967 was the international air terminal of Chile.

In the enclosure will be the Baseball and Softball Center, the Volleyball Sports Center and the Cerrillos Park Climbing Walls.

The sports that will be played in this venue will be Sport climbing, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.

Peñalolén Park

At the foot of the Andes Mountains stands this space, built for the 2014 South American Games. The dome of the velodrome stands out from above, being a symbol of Chilean Olympism. It is located on the well-known Avenida José Arrieta 7659.

The Velodrome, the BMX Track and the Archery Center will be in the enclosure.

The sports that will be played in this venue will be Track Cycling, Figure Skating, Track Cycling, Archery and BMX Racing Cycling.

Chimkowe Gymnasium, Peñalolén

“Meeting place” means its name in Mapudungun and is located next to the municipal building. Since its inauguration in 2008, it has contributed to the cultural and sports development of Santiago.

It has a capacity for 3,500 people and is equipped for massive and smaller-scale cultural events, such as workshops, courses, assemblies, shows, exhibitions, seminars and conferences, among others.

The venue located at Avenida Grecia 8787, will host weightlifting and popular Breaking competitions, a dance style that originated in the United States in the 1970s.

Olympic Training Center, Ñuñoa

The “CEO” is the home of the Chilean Olympic Committee and most of the country’s federations. In its facilities, there are also two scenarios, known as CEO 1 and CEO 2, of a multi-sports nature.

The infrastructure integrates Facilities with implementation for practice and development of 12 affiliated Federations, Sports Hostel with capacity for 100 athletes, Sports Center Gym for organizing championships with capacity for 1,200 spectators and administrative offices for the operation of 38 member Federations.

In this venue of the commune of Ñuñoa, during Santiago 2023 the disciplines of Table Tennis, Badminton, Para Table Tennis and Para Badminton will be played.

Military School, Las Condes

The imposing front of the military building, which dates from the 50s, gives way to wide esplanades that include a stadium, riding arena and attractive circuits for practicing various sports.

In the place located in the commune of Las Condes, the modern Pentathlon will be played, a sport that is made up of five disciplines that are fencing (epee), swimming (200 free meters), horse riding (jumping with obstacles), Laser-Run (four circuits with shooting at an electronic target) and Running (1,200 metres).

Spanish Stadium, Las Condes

In a corner of Las Condes, at Calle Nevería 4855, this traditional neighborhood club has been erected since 1950, with a welcoming water fountain, and in whose infrastructure it has tracks for the traditional sports of northern Spain.

The Basque Pelota competition will be held here!

Basque Pelota is played against walls or “frontis”. The competitors positioned on the court must hit the surface with the ball for their opponent to receive.

It can be played individually or in pairs, being a sport of great concentration and communication. In addition, the speed of the ball is the most striking complexity of this discipline, which will undoubtedly captivate you.

Community Sports Center, La Reina

At Talinay 9085 street, east of Santiago, this venue will be located, part of the legacy of the Santiago 2023 Games.

Its facilities are designed to be multi-purpose for both conventional and Paralympic sports.

Sports such as Boxing, Greco-Roman Wrestling and Free Wrestling will be played in this venue.

Did you know that boxing was a very popular sport in Chile between the 30s and 60s, even more popular than soccer? On those dates several clubs were formed, such as the famous and old Club México.

Prince of Wales Country Club, La Reina

The entire British tradition, an important colony in Chile at the beginning of the 20th century, lives in his house, parks and fields.

The club started operating in 1926 and was inaugurated by the same Prince of Wales Edward VIII. It is located at Calle Las Arañas 1901, in the commune of La Reina.

The golf course has the usual 18 holes and a practice area. It is one of the most prestigious in Santiago, due to its age, beauty, quality and technical design. Every year, important championships for amateur and professional players, both national and foreign, take place there, the most important being the open championship each year and others organized by international golf associations.

Pudahuel Shooting Range, Pudahuel

This military compound is located on the outskirts of Santiago, at the foot of the Lo Aguirre hill, and was inaugurated in 1989, standing out for its sober architecture and closed and open facilities for target and skeet shooting, respectively.

The place has three covered and fully equipped areas for target shooting, with screens and technological controls to see the accuracy of the shots, as well as state-of-the-art technology that can be monitored by professionals.

The disciplines that will be disputed in this headquarters are Number y Paradeportive Shooting.
