The Photo Club candidate to manage the UAICF regional competition

The photo club of the Artistic and Intellectual Union of French Railway Workers (UAICF) held its annual general meeting on 5 January. First of all it was time to present the best wishes and to wish to make beautiful shots to show them at the competitions or present them in the local exhibitions.

Prepared by secretary Jean-Marc Sahuquet, the activity report, presented alternately by co-presidents Claude Dejean and Michel Castelbou, highlighted significant activity in 2022 with participation in the photo competitions of Avignon, Marseille and Dijon, with exhibitions in the Doubs and at the Tourist Office throughout the summer.

There were many outings in the Gorges du Tarn, on the Causses and on the Aubrac. The club also had joint actions with local associations such as the report on the Trail du Pic du Pal and a report with the judo club. Other relations with photo clubs, almost monthly exchanges with Fabrègues or exchanges with the club of Chirac – Bourg de Colagne took place.

Six new memberships

During the forum of associations on September 3, the club had six new memberships, which energizes it with shooting sessions, training in photo software but also discussions on the composition and improvement concerning the images which are sent to competitions.

In addition, the club has applied to organize, in early April 2023, the regional UAICF photo competition for the Mediterranean region. This will be the highlight for the members who will welcome photographers from Nice, Marseille, Gap, Avignon, Sète, Montpellier, Béziers, Perpignan, etc.

Then came the time for the financial report presented by Patrick Lutherer, to whom the meeting gave discharge for the proper keeping of the accounts. In 2023, training will continue in the various aspects of shooting outdoors or in the studio and in editing software. Mayor Edmond Gros, who attended the general assembly, congratulated the club for its activity and for its exchanges with Severagase associations but also for the influence with external photo clubs.
