Mexican tennis player Ernesto Escobedo playing the Main Draw of the Australian Open next February 16.

Escobedo qualified for the main draw after beating Russian Pavel Kotov in the last qualifying game.

Through his Instagram account, Escobedo expressed his joy for defending the colors green, white and red.

Neto also left the Italian Luca Nardi and the Japanese Rio Noguchi on the roadduels that he faced before the International Tennis Federation (ITF) authorized the change to play as an Aztec tennis player.

With the classification ofNeto Escobedo at the Australian Open , Mexico once again has a representative in men’s singles in a Grand Slam after 16 years. The last tennis player to achieve it was Bruno Echagaray, who played the US Open in 2007.
