Former Tokyo Yakult Swallows Shinya Miyamoto is the president of the “Alpine Presents Shinya Miyamoto Cup School Children’s Rubber Baseball Tournament”.
The Shinya Miyamoto Cup has always aimed to be a tournament where you can enjoy baseball by adopting original rules.

For the 8th tournament, original rules have been added to the previous game guidelines. We believe that adopting this new rule will allow children to enjoy baseball even more.

The “Shinya Miyamoto Cup School Children’s Rubber Baseball Tournament”, which is held for elementary school students, is a school children’s baseball tournament that began with Mr. Miyamoto’s strong desire to spread the joy of baseball to more people and to increase the baseball population. am. From the 1st tournament, bunts were prohibited, and from the 4th tournament onwards, original rules such as a pitch limit were adopted.

Despite receiving mixed opinions from many people, he said, “It doesn’t matter if the number of participating teams is small, so I want teams that agree with the philosophy of the Shinya Miyamoto Cup to participate and enjoy baseball! And baseball fans.・I want to increase the baseball population!” The 7th competition held last year was a competition with 129 teams participating as the application deadline was as fast as 30 minutes from the start of recruitment. I realize that many teams agree with the concept of the competition.
On the other hand, the number of after-school baseball teams is decreasing year by year due to repeated absorptions and mergers, and although the number of teams participating in the Miyamoto Cup is increasing, I feel a dilemma about the actual decline in the baseball population.

Some say that the Shinya Miyamoto Cup has many original rules and cannot play baseball as it should. After fully understanding your opinions and thoughts, we will continue to operate the tournament with the thought that “Only for the Shinya Miyamoto Cup, we want children to enjoy baseball with original rules!”

We are looking forward to the participation of all teams who agree with the concept and purpose of the tournament.

originalrule*Please check the tournament website for details.
1: No bunting
I want you to swing the bat boldly! I want you to hit a home run!

2: Pitcher pitch limit 70 pitches per game(Within 60 pitches for 4th graders and below)
In addition to preventing injuries to children’s shoulders and elbows, I would like many players to experience pitching.

3: Adoption of re-entry rules(Newly added to this tournament)

I want as many players as possible to participate in the game.

4: All 6th graders participate in the game(Newly added to this tournament)

6th grade players listed in the squad list must participate in the game.
I want the 6th grade players who are the final year to participate and enjoy the game!

Up to 6 team stolen bases per game(Newly added to this tournament)

Instead of simply prohibiting stolen bases, we will set an upper limit on the number of stolen bases to prevent one-sided games due to excessive stolen bases and to create opportunities for players who are good at baserunning.

About the Women’s Junior High School Rubber Baseball Tournament

Last year, we heard that it was too difficult for female players who graduated from school to continue playing baseball in junior high school. A baseball tournament (supported by Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture) was held. 12 teams gathered from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. We are planning to hold the second tournament again this year. Please wait for more details.

The 8th Shinya Miyamoto Cup School Children’s Rubber Baseball Tournament will be held while fully implementing measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.
