“That’s disrespectful!” – “Mavs” owner Cuban is not satisfied with Doncic’s mural

A mural painted by artist Preston Pannek in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas depicted Mavericks superstar Doncic holding a “Please Send Help” sign.

The message of the painting also includes Doncic’s phenomenal statistics from various games, as one of the games highlighted is the prodigy Doncic’s historic triple double with at least 60 points and 20 steals.

Mavericks owner Cuban was not happy with Doncic’s painting and expressed his dissatisfaction personally by contacting artist Pannek via e-mail.

“It’s disrespectful,” Cuban wrote in an email Pannek revealed to Mavs Moneyball. “But it’s your choice to do what you want. If that’s the way you want to be a fan, then go for it.”

Artist Panneks has been a persistent Mavericks fan since 2000. He revealed that he tried to explain the rationale behind the mural, but ultimately failed to change Cuban’s mind about the nature of the painting.

Cuban concluded the correspondence by praising Pannek’s artistic abilities.

“Not being the first to say something about this painting, it always backs up what you say,” Cuban wrote in a follow-up email. “I appreciate your other murals that you have done. You really have an artistic talent.”

After a few days, the painter Pannek decided to say goodbye to Doncic’s painting, which Cuban called “disrespectful”. Pannek has promised everyone that there will be a new mural featuring superstar Doncic.

It should be mentioned that the Dallas team will play their next match on Friday, when they will meet the Miami Heat at home.
