Stephen Curry wants to take part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

In an interview with Marc Stein, Stephen Curry stressed that he would like to take part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The four-time NBA champion is still missing a gold medal in his showcase.

Although Curry became two-time world champion with Team USA in 2010 and 2014, he has always sat out the Summer Olympics to recover from the previous NBA season and to prepare for the upcoming season.

“I’m beyond excited about the opportunity,” Curry revealed, adding, “Knowing that Coach Kerr is taking the lead and… I’ve played on those two world-winning teams and anyone who’s been on both always emphasizes how different the Olympic Games are.” Warriors coach Steve Kerr replaced Gregg Popovich as Team USA head coach after the legendary Spurs coach led the team to the gold medal in Tokyo.

“Everyone says it’s not even similar in terms of the vibe, the atmosphere, the anticipation, the adrenaline and all that stuff,” Curry said of the difference between the World Cup and the Olympics. An official squad for the tournament has not yet been determined.

“I don’t know what the odds are because you never know what’s going to happen,” Curry acknowledged, “but I would love to have that experience sometime, for sure.” Curry shows no regression at the age of 34 and is currently averaging 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game for the Warriors at odds of 49.3 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from beyond the line of three.
