The creative team Do it Theater introduces 3 recommended movies by theme in the series “Saturday Cinema Salon”. The 87th theme is “Sports movies you want to see along with Slam Dunk”.

This is Megumi Gunji from Do it Theater. In this series, the Do it Theater Joshibu introduces recommended movies in a relay system with various themes.

Ladies and gentlemen, how did you spend your new year’s holiday? I slept earnestly and ate earnestly. I have to move my body soon… I’m impatient.
Speaking of which, the other day, the year-end and new year movie theater mobilization ranking was announced. “THE FIRST SLAM DUNK” took the top spot in Japan over “Suzume no Tojirimari” and “Avatar 2”. It’s a movie worth seeing even if you’re not experienced in basketball, and although it’s been over a month since its release, it seems that the enthusiasm is still going strong. Having said that, I was also a member of the basketball club for 13 years, so after watching the movie, the sports spirit of my time in the basketball club is stirring.

At first, I watched Lee Joo Young for her girlfriend, but I was blown away by her acting ability that exceeded my expectations. She has a strong mental strength that cannot be imagined from her delicate appearance. Her piercing eyes show Su-yin’s stubbornness and strength as she pursues her dreams. In fact, for the first time in the history of Korean high school baseball, Su-in is based on a female player who started in an official game. Based on the original novel by Shion Miura, the movie was made in 2009 starring Keisuke Koide and Kento Hayashi. After the novel was published in 2006, it was made into a manga and a radio drama in 2007, then staged in January 2009 and a live-action film in October of the same year. A TV anime series was released in 2018, and it is still a popular story. The members who live in the run-down Aotake dormitory of the track and field club are full of individuality, such as a handsome manga nerd, a genius who has passed the bar exam, a 25-year-old heavy smoker, and a quiz king who is working hard on job hunting. At first, you might think it’s silly for an amateur to go to Hakone, but the interesting thing about this story is that the members have unexpected potential. Each of the 10 uneven people has their own reasons for running, and each time their drama comes into view, they become more and more drawn into the story. When I see the whole team working hard toward one goal with Heidi at the center, I am strangely empowered. When you finish watching it, you will feel like you have run with everyone, and you can enjoy the exhilarating feeling.

When I was a student, I had a part-time job at a mini theater. After working as a movie theater manager as a new graduate, I am currently involved in theater production at Do it Theater.
I like works that remind me of happiness in everyday life, such as “An,” “Fruits of Life,” and “Patterson.” This year’s goal is to win a movie series that has never been seen before!

A production and creative team that creates a theater experience with the theme of “A new scene starts with the Theater”. Participated as content creation at “Holiday Circus” hosted by FUDGE. In addition, the outdoor theater “Shinagawa Open Theater” attracted more than 50,000 visitors, the “SEASIDE CINEMA” held simultaneously at 5 venues such as the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Marine and Walk Yokohama, and the cloud caravan held at 5 locations nationwide to support mini theaters. It is a team that creates a new style theater experience that is not just watching movies, such as the funding project “Drive-in Theater 2020”, and is a comprehensive production.
