Sporting makes Mariño’s departure official and thanks him for “his outstanding work”

Sporting de Gijón has made the departure of Diego Mariño official this morning, who has committed to Almería for the remainder of the season, plus another campaign, with the option of extending this relationship for a year depending on objectives. The Gijón club has done so with an affectionate message on social networks in which he says goodbye to the goalkeeper from Vigo. “Real Sporting de Gijón thanks Diego Mariño for his outstanding work”, shares the club on social networks after the player’s six and a half seasons in the rojiblanca discipline. “Sportinguismo will always be able to say that he had a great goalkeeper and a benchmark for the team during these six and a half years,” he continues.

Some say goodbye and others are about to arrive. The club is already waiting for Guillermo de Amores, a Uruguayan goalkeeper who will replace Mariño to compete with Cuéllar under the sticks. The Uruguayan will arrive on loan from Argentine Lanús, with a purchase option. The operation is expected to take place in the next few hours in order to be available to Miguel Ángel Ramírez as soon as possible.
