Selective Table Tennis Defined for Regional Macro

Victoria City, Tamaulipas. January 19, 2023.- Even though there is no confirmed date or official venue for the Regional Macro of the CONADE 2023 Games, the previous weekend the Instituto del Deporte Tamaulipas held its state Table Tennis eliminatory event at the Gymnasium ” Prof. Edmundo Castro Núñez” from the Siglo XXI Sports Unit, categories for Children, Youth and 20-21 years of age in which approximately 20 athletes from different parts of the entity participated. Tentatively, the Regional Macro would be in the state of Chihuahua, but nothing concrete yet.

From early on Saturday, the tables were placed on the gym floor, an event that the general coordination was in charge of Professor Raymundo Contreras Marroquín assisted by Carlos Daniel Vázquez and talented young people who have been making their way as referees and scorers in this discipline.

In the 2008-2010 women’s category, Yoselin de los Santos Saldierna (Ciudad Victoria) finished in first place, Natalia Escobedo Yllescas (Tampico) second place, and Gisela Ortíz del Carmen, from Victoria, third place.

In men, the same category born in 2008-2010, first place was Andrés Emanuel Valdéz Medellín from Victoria, second place also went to Victoria David Samuel Manzano Grimaldo, third place Juan Miguel García Balderas from Ciudad Victoria, and third place Roberto Francisco Sánchez Yllescas, from Tampico .

In the Youth female category, born 2004-2007 first place Isabel Abigail Hernandez Guerrero, of Victoria City; in the same category, but male, first place for the victor Ricardo Antonio Manzano Grimaldo, second place for the jaibo Juan Antonio Martinez Muñoz, third place Dante Ismael Ruiz and fourth place for Luis Enrique Fernandez, the latter from the city of Reynosa.

Gumaro Puente Cedillo, in the 20-21-year-old category, from Ciudad Victoria, also advances to the Macro Regional. According to the regulations, the first 4 places in each category and branch of this state eliminatory, go directly to the Regional Macro. Table Tennis is played to win 3 out of 5 sets, the one who adds the first 11 points wins the set, but if there is a tie, for example, 10-10, a tiebreaker will be sought until one of the two contestants scores 12 points and so on. successively.
