A month after his transfer to Celtic FC, former CF Montreal defender Alistair Johnston made his debut in the Scottish Premier League.
Johnston was part of Celtic FC’s starting 11 in a 2-2 draw against Glasgow Rangers. Johnston played the entire game.
It is a first draw this season for Celtic, who have won 18 of their 20 games so far this season, suffering only one loss in the process.
The team is first in the league, just ahead of Glasgow Rangers.
Daizen Maeda opened the scoring for Celtic in the fifth minute, but goals from Ryan Kent and James Tavernier put Rangers ahead. Kyogo Furuhashi finally scored in the 88th minute to put Celtic level.
Johnston joined CF Montreal at the end of 2021, before eventually moving to Celtic FC 12 months later. Johnston has represented Canada at the World Cup in recent weeks.
