Sangalli says goodbye to Oviedoism: “I felt like a guy more from El Requexón”

Marco Sangalli is no longer a Real Oviedo footballer, after reaching an agreement with the club this morning to disassociate himself. He will sign with Racing, after three and a half years with the blue shirt. The footballer wanted to say goodbye to the Carbayona fans in the club’s media in a video in which he recounts his experience as a Real Oviedo footballer.

“Yesterday when I was at home thinking about saying goodbye, I would smile remembering when I decided to come here, when Michu called me. And I also felt sadness to see how this stage ends. I have been happy in Oviedo, from now on I am one more Oviedo fan. I felt like one more kid from El Requexón. I am eternally grateful for these 3 and a half years here”, explains the Basque winger.

Sangalli assures that “in these years, personally, everything has happened to me. They seem more than three and a half, from what I have lived ”. He already analyzes his carbayona stage: “The first year was suffered, we also had the pandemic. I remember Almendralejo’s goal, just before everything stopped, thanks to which I was able to live the following months more calmly. I also feel nostalgic for having lived the following year without people in the Tartiere. It was a good season on a personal level and I was sorry not to share it with people. Last season was very nice, the only thing missing was the icing on the play-off, but I’d prefer the derby win against Sporting, one more, and with the atmosphere that was experienced on the last day against Ibiza, it’s at the level of the best events in Spanish football”.

The footballer takes feeling on the surface: “I have always had deep roots towards San Sebastián and Real Sociedad, but I have admitted to my colleagues that I consider myself from Oviedo and another Asturian. Also one more oviedista. I have shared a lot with the homegrown players, they are good friends, it has been something nice”.

Lastly, Sangalli sends a message of thanks: “May the people continue supporting the club as they have up to now. Here you live moments that do not happen elsewhere. Someday the long-awaited promotion will arrive and we will celebrate it wherever we are”.
