Romelu Lukaku destroyed by Italian press after split against Monza!

Romelu Lukaku lives in complicated times. After a disappointing World Cup, during which he failed to offer qualification to the Devils against Croatia, the Belgian striker was keen to revive with Inter Milan. And it starts badly…

For his second match since the resumption with the Milanese club, Lukaku was left on the bench by Simone Inzaghi, who preferred Edin Dzeko against Monza. The former Anderlechtois then had to wait for the hour mark to get on the pitch while his teammates were leading 1-2. But he failed to shine and Inter finally had to concede a 2-2 split. This earned him strong criticism in the Italian press.

“Inter have a problem that can no longer be overlooked: Lukaku. He misses everything he can,” wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding Lukaku, credited with a rating of 4 out of 10. “He let slip at least two big chances and didn’t create any space. It was an unfortunate sight of lost balloons. The stadium no longer seems to believe in him.
