Remco Evenepoel puffs at 40 degrees: “Another day in paradise” | Tour of San Juan

“I wanted to try something in the last kilometer, but there was too much headwind,” Remco Evenepoel said about the final that could not be shown by Argentinian TV.

“Lamp ( Yves Lampart) could take his chance in the sprint. Our sprinters were released.”

It was a warm birthday for Evenepoel. Also a tricky one? “It wasn’t too bad for me. The climb wasn’t that difficult, but the wind made it tough. I’m looking forward to my ice cream tonight.”

“It was long and boring. Well, not boring now, but the weather forecasts weren’t right either.”

“They said it would be 25 degrees, it was 40 degrees. Another day in paradise.”

“I knew I had to go with Fernando Gaviria and Peter Sagan”, Yves Lampaert analyzed his 4th place in the sprint.

“I was pretty fast in the wind and they are a bit faster than me. I had to let them go.”

“I would have loved to be on the podium, but I have to be satisfied with a 4th place.”
