Ravens: Lamar Jackson will miss the game, Tyler Huntley in training

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jacksonannounced Thursday night on social media that he will not play Sunday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, explaining that his left knee “remains unstable” and that his injury is more serious than initially believed. .

Jackson tweeted that he “suffered a Grade 2 sprain, bordering on a Grade 3 sprain.”

“There is still inflammation around my knee and my knee remains unstable,” Jackson wrote. “I want more than anything to be on the pitch with my guys, but I can’t give 100% to my guys and my fans. I remain hopeful that we have a chance. »

For his part, the substitute quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens Tyler Huntley started throwing the ball again in practice on Thursday.

Huntley, who suffers from tendonitis in his right shoulder, had not been seen throwing a pass since Jan. 1 in a 16-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huntley could be the starter for Sunday night’s playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals if the Ravens’ No. Lamar Jackson stay away. Jackson missed his 17th straight practice Thursday with a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Jackson hasn’t played since the Dec. 4 game against the Denver Broncos in Week 13 of the regular season.

In the absence of Jackson and Huntley last week against the Bengals, the Ravens turned to the rookie Anthony Brownwho threw for 286 yards with two interceptions in a 27-16 loss.

Huntley is 2-2 as a starting quarterback. He passed for 658 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions this season.
