PSG – Presnel Kimpembe dots the i’s on the armband: “I was not made aware of this decision”

“In the last few hours, I have been able to hear and read a lot about myself. I therefore wish to make things clear in order to avoid continuing to spread false information about me. I was not made aware of this decision, this is completely false…“, wrote Kimpembe.

Kilian Mbappé wore the armband on Monday during the Coupe de France match against Pays de Cassel (0-7). “For the captain’s armband, it has been defined like this since the start of the season. I had decided that Kylian should be the second captain. He stayed at PSG. He deserved to have this armband when Marqui is not there”, justified Galtier in a press conference after the meeting. A strong choice which illustrates all the dimension taken by the tricolor striker both on the ground and in the locker room in Paris.

And if some were surprised to see Presnel Kimpembe demoted in the hierarchy, RMC explained on Tuesday that PSG had taken care to discuss this “dismissal” with its defender.
