Shortly before Christmas, “Red Devils” trainer Erik ten Hag (52) spoke to journalists about the Sancho case. After beating Burnley (2-0) in the League Cup, the Dutchman was asked if there was a timetable for the left winger to make a comeback. His short answer: “No!” The England professional, who was not nominated for the World Cup squad, kept fit during this time in Holland with amateur club OJC Rosmalen. Ten Hag at the time: “I can’t make a prediction as to when that will be. Sometimes you don’t know why or what’s causing it.”
Now there is new hope!
Sancho has meanwhile returned to the club quarters in Carrington to complete an individual fitness program.
Now ten Hag was back to answering questions from his player: “We still have a few hurdles to clear, but I think he’s on the right track. I’ll be very happy when he gets back into team training. That’s the next step.”

And further: “The physical is also connected to the mental. He’s making good physical progress now and that will help him. I think – or let’s say I hope – he can come back quickly, but I can’t say how long that will take. I want him to come back as soon as possible. I will do everything in my power, but some processes cannot be forced and this is one of them.”
Manchester United has a need, especially in the offensive department. Should he be fit, Sancho is “an additional option” (ten Hag).

Since his 85 million move from BVB to Manchester in 2021, Sancho has never really got going at United (52 games, 8 goals, 4 assists). He last played against Chelsea on October 22.
Maybe he can pick up on old achievements again after his break.
