Pistons post 1st win in Brooklyn in nearly 5 years

NEW YORK (AP) — Saddiq Bey scored 25 points and the Detroit Pistons won in Brooklyn for the first time in almost five years, beating the Nets 130-122 on Thursday night.

Alec Burks added 20 points for the Pistons, who snapped a four-game skid and played for the first time since giving up 150 points Monday night at Milwaukee.

Detroit took advantage of a depleted Nets, who played for the second night in a row. The Pistons hadn’t won at Barclays Center since April 1, 2018.

They thus broke a streak of six consecutive defeats in this arena. They had lost seven straight games overall to the Nets.

Kyrie Irving scored 40 points for the Nets, tying his career high. Nic Claxton added 27 points and Edmond Sumner had 24.

But the Nets, who lost Wednesday in Philadelphia, ran out of fuel in the second half. They allowed the Pistons to score 43 points and shoot 65% in the third quarter.
