The judoka from León Pablo Fernández managed to shine this weekend in the Tarragona town of Tortosa, which hosted the Spanish Super Cup, and where he signed a brilliant third place in the 90-kilo weight.
The athlete from Club Kyoto de León traveled to the Ferreries Municipal Sports Center to play this prestigious competition organized by the Catalan federation with the best judokas in the country.
With 13 rivals in his squad, Fernández began his competition by beating the Catalan Derek Romero and immediately losing to the Basque Amets Carrera.
But the man from Leon rearmed himself emotionally and signed a great performance by way of the playoffs, defeating the Valencians Miguel López and Acaymo Armas to hang a meritorious bronze, the only medal of the entire Castilla y León expedition
