Samuel Obeng’s was not a planned departure and that is why Oviedo will not let him go at any price. The Ghanaian will play the remainder of the season on loan at Huesca del Cuco Ziganda, in an operation that will be official in the next few hours and that will mean an income for the blue club of close to 100,000 euros for the loan, plus the savings of what that he had left to collect this season. In total, sources close to the operation estimate the amount that Oviedo will win between the payment for the transfer and the savings on the token at more than 150,000 euros.
Despite the fact that the economic benefits seem evident from a mid-season loan, the entity’s initial idea was not to facilitate Obeng’s departure. But the striker’s insistence changed the plan. Up to two times last week the striker asked to leave for Huesca; the last one, the day before Oviedo faced Villarreal B. That decisive attitude of the striker was what made the club change its mind.
