Osasuna ratified his good present and took Betis out of the Copa del Rey

Los Rojillos prevailed on penalties against the current champion, after 2-2 in regular time, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the domestic tournament.

Another setback for Betis. He came from being left out in the semifinals of the Super Cup in Spain and today he suffered another bad drink. Being twice up on the scoreboard, he could not hold out with Osasuna and gave up continuing with the title defense in the Copa del Rey.

In the first half, the local team looked better and generated opportunities thanks to Sergio Canales and Luiz Henrique. The visit improved little by little in the sense that he began to have more possession of the ball and to move his rival away from his own goal. Although he did not gravitate in terms of chances. On closing, Wlliam José had a clear free kick for the homeowner.

The addition offered an explosive start for the Rojillos with Kike García’s high shot after receiving from the Serbian Darko Brasanac. The Verdiblanco once again imposed conditions and, after warning, took the lead. William Carvalho impaled her from the front of the box. Time passed and it seemed that it was a victory for the champion but defender David García appeared in agony to equalize with a header.

Extra time had the same scenario, as Manuel Pellegrini’s team started with an advantage with a goal from Youssouf Sabaly after a great collective play and continued with a parda for those led by Jagoba Arrasate with a kick from Rubén García. In the penalties, luck was on Osasuna’s side, who hit all the executions and took advantage of the two that Betis did not put in (Sergio Herrera stopped Canales) to advance to the quarterfinals.
