An important player in French football in the early 2000s, M’Bami, propelled very early to the professionals, had spent the majority of his career in Ligue 1 after being revealed at home at Dynamo Douala.
He then joined Sedan between 2000 and 2003, with the Cédric Mionnet generation, before signing for PSG (2003-2006), where he definitively revealed himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Ligue 1. He had won two Coupe de France in 2004 and 2006 with the capital club.

Olympic champion with Eto’o
The Cameroonian then joined Olympique de Marseille directly in the summer of 2006. He stayed three seasons at La Canebière before attempting a more exotic second part of his career (Almeria, China, Saudi Arabia and Colombia). He returned to France, to Le Havre, between 2014 and 2016, to end his career there.
M’Bami had also worn the colors of the Cameroon selection. Between 2000 and 2009, he was capped 38 times with the Indomitable Lions. Olympic champion in 2000, at only 17 years old, with the Samuel Eto’o – Lauren – Geremi generation, he was also a finalist in the 2003 Confederations Cup against France.
