NFL: Joe Burrow and the Bengals aim for another victory against the Chiefs

The American Conference final between the Bengals and the Chiefs will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on RDS and the RDS.ca.

PRE-MATCH

The Bengals from Cincinnati and the Chiefs of Kansas City have become regular adversaries.

Sunday’s All-America Championship game will be the fourth meeting between the two teams in 393 days, and a replay of last year’s Conference Finals.

The first-seeded Chiefs (15-3) have lost their last three meetings, including a 27-24 loss at Cincinnati on Dec. 4. The Bengals won by the same score in overtime at Kansas City at this point in the season last year.

The Bengals (14-4) are on a 10-game winning streak after eliminating the buffalo bills in the last round.

If the two teams find themselves in the final of the American, it is largely thanks to their quarterback.

On the Chiefs side, Patrick Mahomes led the NFL with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, helping his team reach this game for the fifth straight season. Joe Burrow threw for 4,475 passing yards and 35 touchdowns, and led the Bengals to a 5-1 playoff record the past two seasons.

The Chiefs are aiming for a third Super Bowl final in four years and fifth overall, as the Bengals attempt to advance to the ultimate game for the fourth time.

With Burrow as the leader, the Bengals had the fifth-best airborne offense in the NFL. The quarterback has two talented receivers in Ja’Marr Chase et Tee Higgins.

Chase had 87 catches, for 1,046 yards and nine touchdowns, while Higgins had 74 catches, good for 1,029 yards and seven touchdowns. Tyler Boyd and tight end Hayden Hurst are also part of the success of the passing game of the Bengals.

The Bengals may have finished with the fourth-lowest rushing total, but Joe Mixon et Samaje Perineum can be dangerous. Perine rushed for 106 yards against the Chiefs last month, while Mixon rushed for 105 yards in the team’s win over the Bills last week.

The Bengals’ weakened offensive squad will face the difficult task of stopping star players Chris Jones et Frank Clark, defensive tackle and defensive end respectively. Jones had 15.5 of his team’s 55 sacks. Clark had six, plus added one in the win over the Jaguars de Jacksonville last week.

A sprained ankle could slow Mahomes down, but the star player has shown in the past that he can perform miracles on the football field. Whether it’s throwing the ball out of balance, making blind passes or breaking the deadlock, the quarterback is the master of improvisation.

Mahomes lost his receiver Tyreek Hill in the offseason on a trade, but didn’t slow down. Travis Kelce had 110 catches in the regular season and 14 extra against the Jaguars. He’s Mahomes’ go-to target whenever the Chiefs need a first down or a big play.

JuJu Smith-Schuster took on the role of the team’s first wide receiver and caught 78 passes, totaling 933 yards. Marquez Valdes-Scantlingmeanwhile, had 687 in 42 catches.

The Bengals completed just 30 sacks, 14.5 of which were produced by Trey Hendrickson et Sam Hubbard. linebackers Logan Wilson et Germaine Prattas well as the safety Vonn Bell et Jessie Bates are the Bengals’ best tacklers.
